Julunggul (Yurlunggur) is the Rainbow Serpent of the Yolngu people of Arnhem Land, a creator being of the Gunapipi ceremony who controls the monsoon and the waters. He swallows and regurgitates initiates to symbolize death and rebirth, and he can bring life-giving rain or destructive floods when angered.
