Juoksáhkká
Juoksáhkká (Bow Woman) is a Sami goddess depicted with a bow on Sami shaman drums. She is one of the three daughters of Máttaráhkká, the origin mother. Her most distinctive power is the ability to change a child's sex from female to male in the womb if given sufficient offerings — an important ability in a culture where sons were valued for hunting. She helps with fetal development and birth, protects children from gunshots and falls, and helps women during menstruation. After a son was born, a small bow and arrow symbol was placed in Sáráhkká's porridge and then placed beside the cradle so th
