Kanaloa

One of the four great gods (ka hā) of Hawaiian religion, Kanaloa is the god of the ocean, ocean winds, and the underworld. He is associated with squid and octopus, and is sometimes called the squid god. Kanaloa is the complementary opposite of Kane, the creator god - together they represent the dual aspects of divine power. Kanaloa is also associated with healing, magic, and the ocean's mysterious depths. In some traditions, he is a rebel god who was bound by Kane for his transgressions.
