Karakasa
Karakasa, also known as kasa-obake or karakasa-kozo, is a tsukumogami from Japanese folklore, a type of yokai formed when an everyday object reaches a certain age and becomes animated by a spirit. Specifically, karakasa are transformed from old Chinese-style oiled-paper umbrellas that have been used and aged for many years. The karakasa is one of the most iconic and recognizable yokai in Japanese culture, frequently appearing in Edo-period art, ukiyo-e prints, and modern media. While not particularly dangerous, these mischievous spirits are known for startling humans with their sudden appearan
