Karakondzola
Karakondzola is a fearsome night demon from Montenegrin and Balkan Slavic folklore, believed to attack people during the Twelve Days of Christmas (between Christmas and Epiphany). It is described as a small, dark, hairy creature with a single eye, sometimes with a long tail. It rides people's backs at night, forcing them to carry it until dawn. It torments sleepers, causes nightmares, and can be particularly vicious during the unbaptized days when the spiritual boundaries between worlds are thin.
