Karemanua is a part-shark, part-human mythical figure from the Eastern Solomon Islands, particularly associated with the Pagewa (Shark) sublineage of Santa Ana Island. According to myth, Karemanua was a man who died in a violent, bloody way and his blood transformed into a wild, uncontrolled supernatural being called ataro wasi.
