Kashehotapalo
Kashehotapalo, 'the woman caller,' is a being of Choctaw folklore that is neither man nor beast, with a small, shriveled old-man's head, a man's body, and the legs and cloven hooves of a deer. It dwells in low, swampy places and delights in creeping up behind hunters and crying out in a woman's voice to frighten them. It does not harm people, though it will warn game or enemies if it is angered.
