Katthveli
Katthveli in Faroese tradition is the same cat-whale illhveli as in Iceland, attested in Faroese ballads and oral accounts, notably a 17th-century encounter at Suðuroy where it attacked a boat, hissing and spitting like a cat. The Faroese version shares the Icelandic taxonomy of evil whales but has distinct local lair traditions.
