Ka'wimosa (Kachina Maker)

spirit · United States · North America

Ka'wimosa, the Kachina Maker, is a priestly figure of Zuni origin tradition who led the search for itiwana, the Middle Place. Asked to send his sons in the cardinal directions, he dispatched his eldest, Kiaklo, northward and, when no word returned, his next two sons, the Ánahoho áchi, southward; the journeys founded the kachina cult and brought the Zuni to their homeland.
