The Kel Essuf (People of the Wild or Solitude) are desert spirits from Tuareg mythology of Niger, particularly the Kel Ewey confederation of the Aïr Mountains. The Tuareg word essuf does not translate cleanly into English - it means solitude, wilderness, and nostalgia simultaneously.
