Kellingin
Kellingin (The Witch or The Hag) is the petrified wife of Risin, the giant sent from Iceland to drag the Faroe Islands back across the ocean. In the legend, Kellingin climbed Mount Eiðiskollur carrying a heavy rope and attempted to tie the islands together so she could push them onto Risin's back. Her efforts caused the northern part of the mountain to split — a fissure still visible today. After struggling all night, dawn broke and sunlight turned her to stone. She now stands as a 68-meter (223-foot) pointed basalt sea stack closer to shore than Risin, standing with her legs apart. Unlike her
