Khazyr
Khazyr (Khyzyr) is the Turkmen form of al-Khidr, the immortal green prophet-guide of Islamic tradition, honored across Central Asia as a protector of travelers, wayfarers and the fortunate. In Turkmen belief he appears unexpectedly in the Karakum Desert, often as an old man or a guiding light, to lead the lost to water and safety, and he is linked with springs and renewal
