Khorba Spirits (Berber Ruin Dwellers)

In Maghrebi folk belief, jinn and spirits are commonly said to haunt khorba, the ruined or abandoned buildings of North Africa — collapsed granaries, deserted ksour, and old fortifications. These beings are feared for mischief and nocturnal disturbance, and ruins are avoided after dark.
