Kilibob and Manup
Kilibob and Manup (also Kulbob and Manub) are mythical brothers central to the folklore of northeastern Papua New Guinea, particularly in Madang Province and on Karkar Island. They appear as creator beings whose stories explain the origin of landmarks, trade routes, craft specializations, and material wealth inequality. In the Karkar version, Kulbob is a hunter and carver associated with Mount Kanagioi, while Manub is a fisherman. A quarrel over Manub's wife leads to conflict, and Kulbob eventually sails away in a great canoe loaded with valuable artifacts and people
