Kishelamakank (He Who Creates Us By Thought) is the supreme creator god of the Lenape (Delaware) people. According to Lenape tradition, before creation there was only endless darkness. Within this void, Kishelamakank dreamed of the world as it would become — mountains, forests, animals, and people. Upon awakening, he brought his dream into reality, creating helper spirits (the Grandfathers of the directions and Grandmother of the South) who shaped the earth.
