Kokopelli (fertility spirit)
Kokopelli is the humpbacked, flute-playing spirit of Pueblo and Hopi tradition, a fertility deity who presides over childbirth, rain, and agriculture and appears in petroglyphs across the Southwest. He is also a trickster and spirit of music; his name links the Hopi and Zuni word for deity, koko, with the robber fly, pelli.
