Kolowisi (Horned Water Serpent)
Kolowisi, the Horned Water Serpent, is the great serpent of Zuni tradition that dwells in the sacred spring at K'iákime, 'Home of the Eagles,' beneath Thunder Mountain. In Cushing's 'The Serpent of the Sea' it took the form of a child to punish a maiden who defiled the spring's waters, and it brings rain when properly honored.
