The Hawaiian god of war, politics, and male pursuits. Ku is one of the four great gods of Hawaiian religion. He is the fierce, aggressive god of warriors, rulers, and fishermen. Offerings to Ku included human sacrifices before battle. Ku is associated with the forest (as Ku of the forest) and with the sea (as Ku of the ocean). Different aspects of Ku were worshipped for specific purposes.
