Kulus (Thunderbird Child)
Kulus is the younger brother (or sister) of the Kwakwaka'wakw Thunderbird, Tseiqami, and a founding ancestor of many clans. Lacking the Thunderbird's spiral horns and lightning eyes, Kulus wears a coat of thick white down so warm that he sweats, sheds it, and becomes human. A Kulus who flew from the sky and removed his costume founded a clan; he helps raise ceremonial house beams.
