Kumakotok
Kumakatok is a trio of death-omen spirits from the Visayas (Philippines): a young woman flanked by two elderly men who knock on doors at night, answering the knock portending death within the year. Households paint white crosses above doorways or refuse to answer, for the spirits exploit courtesy. The legend warns against opening doors to strangers after dark.
