Kurupira
Kurupira is a forest spirit from the folklore of Uruguay and the Guarani-speaking regions of South America, a wild and fearsome creature that dwells in the deepest parts of the forest as the lord of all woodland animals. This short, ugly, hairy being is the undisputed master of the wilderness, commanding the animals and plants of the forest according to its will. The kurupira is one of the most important nature spirits in Guarani tradition, serving as both protector of the forest and punisher of those who harm it. Hunters and woodcutters must obtain the kurupira permission before taking anythi
