Kvitormen (the White Serpent) is a magical white snake from the folk belief of Vest-Agder in Sørlandet, particularly the areas of Lyngdal, Bjelland, and Lindesnes. According to tradition, if one could capture a white serpent and place it under the skin of one's arm, the snake would grant supernatural wisdom and healing powers. The person would gain the ability to understand the language of animals, see hidden things, and heal sickness with a touch. However, the white serpent was almost impossible to catch — it was extremely fast, could disappear into the ground, and was protected by supernatur
