La Diablesse
La Diablesse (Lajables) is a figure of Dominican and wider Francophone-Caribbean folklore: a beautiful, elegantly dressed woman who lures men into the forest at night, revealing a cloven hoof or a withered leg under her long skirt. Dominican accounts describe her as a jumbie to be avoided on lonely roads. The text is corrected from the Saint Lucian version to the Dominican tradition.
