The Lagarfljótsormur, also known as the Lagarfljót Worm, is a legendary lake monster said to inhabit Lake Lagarfljót near the town of Egilsstaðir in eastern Iceland. First recorded in 1345 AD in the Icelandic Annals, this creature is one of Iceland's most famous cryptids, comparable to the Loch Ness Monster.
