Lampad
The Lampad is a spectral figure from Hungarian folklore, described as a ghostly light or swamp spirit that appears as a flickering flame over marshy ground. Known also by various names in Hungarian tradition, the Lampad is similar to the will-o'-the-wisp found in many European folk traditions. These eerie lights were believed to be the souls of unbaptized children, suicides, or other restless spirits condemned to wander between the earthly realm and the afterlife. The Hungarian Lampad is particularly associated with swamps, bogs, and wetlands, where it leads travelers astray
