Lebe
Lebe is an ancestral spirit and earth deity of the Dogon people of Mali. According to Dogon cosmology, Lebe was the first ancestor, who died and was reborn as a serpent and whose body is identified with the earth. Linked with the sacred serpent and cycles of regeneration, he is honoured through offerings and rites in the Dogon ritual year.
