Lieaibolmmái
Lieaibolmmái, the Alder Man, is the Sami god of hunting, archery, and the forest, his name drawn from the alder wood used for bows. He keeps the wild forest animals as his herds and grants or withholds luck in hunting; the bow goddess Juoksáhkká entrusted newborn boys to him so they would become skilled hunters. Offerings ensured success after reindeer, elk, and small game.
