Little People (Cherokee)
The Little People (Yûñwï Tsunsdi', 'the Little Folk') of Cherokee tradition are small spirit beings who live in rock shelters and caves in the forests and mountains. They help lost children, teach medicine and song, and punish those who disrespect nature; speaking of an encounter with them is said to bring misfortune, and they can grant good luck or play mischievous tricks.
