Lusca

monster · Bahamas · Caribbean

Lusca is the Bahamian sea monster of Andros Island's blue holes. Described as a gigantic octopus, cuttlefish, or half-shark half-octopus hybrid over 75 feet long. Name clipped from Mollusca. Drags swimmers and boats into blue holes. Investigated by Jeremy Wade (River Monsters) as likely a large octopus. Cautionary tale for blue hole divers. Inspired Lusca Fantastic Film Fest (Puerto Rico).
