Machik Lapdron
Machik Lapdron (1055–1153) is the great Tibetan yogini and founder of the Chöd tradition, pictured as a peaceful woman with a slight smile, holding the drum (damaru) and bell, implements of the Chöd practice she founded. Fearless and compassionate, she taught cutting attachment to the self, transforming demonic forces through wisdom, not confrontation. Her Chöd lineage remains a living practice.
