Madremonte
Madremonte (Madre Monte, 'Mother of the Mountain') is a Colombian nature spirit protecting wilderness, especially in Andean and Pacific regions. Punishes deforestation, pollution, and harm to nature. Appears as a large woman covered in moss and leaves, with glowing eyes. Blend of Muisca earth goddess traditions and Spanish Catholic influences (Virgin Mary syncretism).
