Maghwi
The Maghwi is a jinn of the night of Gulf and Yemeni coastal folklore. It mimics the voices of friends and loved ones, spies on fishermen before dawn, and lures them into darkness to drown them; it also calls date-palm keepers (nakhlawis) from their companions, the sight of it stopping their hearts. Villagers held no dark night safe until electric lights pushed it back from human settlement.
