Maha Sohona
Maha Sohona (Great Cemetery Demon) is a major demon in Sinhala Sri Lankan folklore, king of the Sanni Yakku (disease demons). He dwells in cremation grounds, devours corpses, and spreads plagues. Described as terrifying with red eyes, fangs, and a corpse-strewn form. Can be propitiated by rituals (thovil) but is ruthless. Documented by Wirz, Obeyesekere, and in Kandyan period texts.
