Mama Dlo (Mother of Waters) is the Saint Lucian water spirit, upper body a beautiful woman with long flowing hair perpetually combing, lower body serpentine. Inhabits mountain pools and streams. A Caribbean manifestation of the West African Mami Wata/Mama Wata tradition brought by enslaved Africans. Can grant wealth or drown the disrespectful. Connects to Haitian Simbi and Guyanese Watra-mama.
