Manup is a mythical culture hero from northeastern Papua New Guinea, the brother of Kilibob. While his brother Kilibob traveled along the northern coast, Manup took a southern route and brought agriculture, domesticated animals, and ceremonial practices to the people. Wherever he landed, he left behind different languages and customs, contributing to the remarkable cultural diversity of the region.
