Matlose Nuu Chah Nulth
Matlose is a hobgoblin of Nuu-chah-nulth tradition, described in early accounts as a Caliban-like spirit of the woods. His head is said to be only half like a man's, his body horrid with black bristles, his teeth monstrous, and his hands armed with bear-like claws. His voice fells listeners, and a single stroke of his claw rends his prey.
