Meiga
Meigas are the wise women of Galician folklore, healers and practitioners who communicate with nature and the supernatural and who can cure or harm. Unlike the malevolent witch stereotype, they were knowledgeable community figures consulted for healing and divination. The tradition is recorded in Galician oral tradition and remains part of regional identity.
