Moon Woman
Moon Woman is a significant supernatural figure in Haida mythology who features prominently in the Raven cycle. Raven became her son and cried incessantly until she allowed him to play with the moon. When she left, Raven transformed and escaped through the smoke hole with the moon under his wing. He flew to the Nass River where fishermen were taking olachen in total darkness, bargaining with them and offering light. He then broke the moon in half, creating night and day, and scattered fragments as stars
