Moon God (Guarani)

deity · Paraguay · South America

This entry conflates Kurupi with a moon deity. Kurupi is a Guaraní forest spirit, one of seven monstrous children of Tau and Kerana, known for his elongated prehensile phallus, backwards feet, and role as abductor/impregnator of women. He is a fertility figure and forest guardian, not a moon god.
