Not independently attested as an ancestor-spirit of Haida folklore. Haida Gwaii is a maritime archipelago where moose are not native, and Haida narratives center on Raven, the sea wolf (Wasgo), the killer whale and clan crest animals. No source records a moose ancestor-spirit 'guardian of the hills.' The traits recorded appear to derive from modern speculation.
