Not independently attested in Kikuyu tradition. Moose (Alces alces) are absent from East Africa. Kikuyu ancestor spirits (ngoma cia andu a kale) associate with indigenous fauna—elephant, leopard, hyena—or the sacred mugumo fig tree.
