Moose Ancestor-Spirit of Blackfoot
Not independently attested as an ancestor-spirit of Blackfoot (Siksika) folklore. No source records a moose guardian 'of the cliffs' in Blackfoot tradition, whose spiritual life centers on Napi (Old Man), the Sun Dance, beaver bundles and the buffalo. Moose were scarce in Blackfoot plains territory and play no ancestor-spirit role. The traits recorded appear to derive from modern speculation.
