Moose Nature-Spirit (Mixtec)
Not independently attested as a moose nature-spirit of Mixtec folklore. Moose do not inhabit Oaxaca, and no Mixtec source records a lake-dwelling moose spirit. The genuine Mixtec water and rain powers belong to Dzahui, the rain god with a Tlaloc-like goggle mask, and to mountain and spring 'owners' in Ñuu (Mixtec) tradition. The moose appears to be a misplaced northern animal.
