Morana
Morana (Marzanna, Morena) is the Slavic goddess of winter, death, and the harvest's end, honored in spring rituals across Czech, Polish, and Slovak lands. At the end of winter an effigy of Morana is carried to a river, set alight, and drowned to drive out the cold and welcome spring, one of the oldest surviving Slavic seasonal rites.
