Myling
Myling (Swedish), utburd (Norwegian), or ihtiriekko (Finnish) is the ghost of an unbaptized/murdered child in Scandinavian folklore. Abandoned in forests, the child's soul cannot rest. It weeps at night, revealing the mother's crime. It chases lone wanderers, jumps on their backs demanding to be carried to hallowed ground — growing heavier near the cemetery until the carrier sinks.
