Naato'si
Naato'si is the sun deity of the Blackfoot, a name meaning 'holy one' rather than simply 'sun.' Created by the high god Apistotoke, he rules the sky with his wife, the moon Komorkis, and their children are the stars; his son Morning-Star is grandfather to the hero Star Boy (Poia). He is central to the Sun Dance, whose rites and sweat lodge came to the people through his gifts.
