Nahurac

Nahurac are powerful spirit animals in Pawnee religion upon whom Tirawa conferred miraculous powers. They serve as Tirawa's messengers and servants and can intercede with him on behalf of the Pawnee people. The nahurac had five sacred underground lodges: Pahuk (hill island on the Platte River), Lalawakohtito (dark island in the Platte), Ahkawitakol (white bank on the Loup River), Kitzawitzuk (sacred spring on the Solomon River), and Pahur (guide rock hill).
