Nanabush
Nanabush, also called Nanabozho, Wenabozho, or Waynaboozhoo, is the great culture hero and trickster of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi) and many Algonquian nations. A shapeshifter born of a mortal mother and the West Wind, he remade the world after a great flood and taught the people how to live. His tales are told in winter and carry both laughter and sacred teaching.
