Neang Kay
Not independently attested in documented Khmer folklore or academic sources as a female water spirit named Neang Kay. Closest documented figures are the pre-Angkorian nāgī Soma, a serpent spirit of Khmer royal legend, and the Phnom Neang Kong Rei ('Sleeping Lady') legend of a princess who wept herself to death. A river spirit named 'Neang Kay' who lures men to drown was not found in any source.
