Nerstenhornets underjordiske
Nerstenhornets underjordiske is a supernatural being from the burial mounds at Nersten farm in Øyestad, near Arendal. According to Andreas Faye's Norske Sagn (1833), a large farmer named Sjur was riding past burial mounds at Lia near Temsevannet when an underground being emerged and offered him a magnificent drinking horn. Sjur threw the drink over his shoulder — the drink burned the hide off his horse. He galloped away with the horn. He was only saved from the pursuing being because he rode over a rye field, which the being could not cross. The horn became known as Nerstenhornet. This legend
